Redmi Note Prime
Are you in favor of Chinese phablet manufacturer Xiaomi and looking for a budget device? You will really fall for the new Redmi Note Prime then. It has been recently announced, just around a week ago. We haven’t had the chance yet to conduct a detailed and deep analysis of the way the device performs in various conditions, but are ready with the basic review for you.
From the first look at the smartphone we realize that it has all the features and maybe even more on top to what consumers in this segment are looking for. Basically, you get everything: dual-core processor, a big screen, a pretty decent amount of RAM, dual-SIM support, expandable storage, high-resolution cameras and a pretty good battery inside.
Eye-catching display and well-done hardware
You are going to enjoy the screen – a 5.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. IPS is well-known for delivering stunning color consistency from almost any angle.
Xiaomi ended up using a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and a 2 GB of RAM. The processor has 50% more processing power than its predecessor which can provide for a pretty heavy usage like intense gaming. We’d like to also mention that it has 64-bit capacity, which is considerably faster and more powerful than the 32-bit one. You are sure to feel the far more efficient processing and memory usage. Speaking of that, the internal storage is 16GB, but you are free to expand it up to 32 GB thanks to the microSD card slot.
Another delightful feature worth mentioning is the great 3,100 mAh battery. It is most likely to give users plenty of battery life, especially given the hardware specifications mentioned above.
Software and cameras are just right
When it comes to software, the device features Android 4.4 KitKat with its own MIUI 7 on top. As the producer claims, it improves the system response by 30% alongside with using power saving strategies in order to improve battery life by at least 10% every day.
Choosing Redmi Note Prime you are getting a pretty good shooter as well – a pretty decent 13mp camera in the back with the LED flash under it and a 5mp selfie shooter in the front. You can record a 1080p video and a 720p one accordingly. The lens aperture is f/2.2 in both cases, which is of great help for both the low-light shooting experience and video making.
Redmi Note Prime remains to be available only in India till the end of this year, but the expansion to Asian retailers who ship worldwide is expected in the beginning of the next year.
