Is Sony stopping Xperia C and M series to just focus on X series?

May 24, 2016 News Rumours Sony

In February this year,  Sony reportedly pulled the plug on its Xperia Z series. A few months after, it seems the Japanese company decided to also send its C and M series to the recycle bin. According to a leaked slide presentation, the company may be interested in its Xperia X series rather than the other now dead series. At this moment, there are no official statements as to why, but as fans, we are hoping that the company has the best in store for us.

Moreover, another leaked presentation -- shown below -- gives us a hint as to what the future plan of the company may be. According to the slide, Sony may capitalize on the X logo by using it in its advertisements and promotions. This is not strange because only the better brands are getting more attention from prospective customers.

This may be strange to some people while it would make perfect sense to others. But the question to ask is what is the rational behind the strategy of Sony?  A close answer could be: that companies stop its smartphone series because of dwindling sales and market share or probably to focus on a more promising line of its products.

At the time of writing this, there is no official confirmation for these claims. However, it is obvious that this may be the path that the company is going to tread. If thei nformation presented here can get into an official presentation slide, it shows that that Sony is making plans towards what is presented. The Etoren blog believes that the official confirmation should be underway.

Conclusion

If you are a diehard fan of Sony, you know that it is tme to start planning how to dish your Xperia C or M series smartphone. If the company is going to focus only on the Xperia X series alone,  then we should be expecting another release smartphone to close the gap.
