新開発のハイライト拡散フィルター (HDF) を搭載した Ricoh GR IIIx HDF では、優れた画質を維持しながら、画像のスタイルをより細かく制御できます。HDF を有効にして撮影すると、画像が明らかに柔らかくなり、ハイライトが強調されるため、フィルム写真やビンテージ映画に似たノスタルジックな外観になります。Fn ボタンのデフォルト設定は、HDF のオン/オフを切り替えるように設定されました。このモデルには、以前の GR シリーズモデルと区別するために、ダークシルバーのシャッターボタンも付いています。最後に、新しいファームウェアでは、ゾーン選択 AF と最大 3 つのホワイトバランス設定を基本ホワイトバランスとして事前プログラムできます。
