DC-S1Rは、パナソニックの新しいラインナップのフルフレームミラーレスカメラの2つのうちの1つです。ライカが開発したLマウントを採用し、パナソニックやシグマとともにドイツメーカーのレンズをサポート。 S1は、47MPセンサー、安定化レンズと連動するボディ内手ぶれ補正、パナソニックのデフォーカスからの深度コントラスト検出AFシステムを備えています。その他の機能には、超高解像度EVF、ダブルヒンジLCD、デュアルメモリカードスロット（SDおよびXQD）が含まれます。 S1Rは4K/60pビデオをキャプチャすることができます。そのマグネシウム合金ボディは耐候性があり、400kサイクルの定格のシャッターを備えています。
