ニコンZ 7は、同社のハイエンドフルフレームミラーレスカメラである。45.7MPのBSI-CMOSセンサー、493点、カバー率90％のハイブリッドAFシステム、5軸ボディ内手ブレ補正を搭載している。堅牢なボディはD850デジタル一眼レフカメラと同様のデザインで、防塵・防滴仕様となっている。368万ドットの電子ビューファインダーと3.2インチ、210万ドットのチルト式タッチスクリーンLCDを搭載。トッププレートのOLEDパネルには、現在の撮影設定が表示されます。写真はXQDカードに保存されます。

Z7はAEロックで9コマ/秒、コンティニュアスAF/AEで5.5コマ/秒の連続撮影が可能です。バッファは比較的小さく、最大でRawが18～23枚、JPEGが25枚です。センサーの幅をフルに使って4K動画を撮影することもできるし、センサー全体をサンプリングするDXクロップモードに切り替えることもできる。5軸ISやハイブリッドAFシステム（こちらは435点）など、静止画と同じ機能を動画でも使用できる。Z 7は、フォーカスピーキング、ゼブラパターン、タイムコード、HDMIでの10ビットLog出力をサポートしている。このカメラは、内部と外部で同時に8ビット動画を記録することができます。
